Coves de Campanet

The Coves de Campanet, with an approximate surface area of 3,200 m2 and a distance of around 500m, are located on the southern slope of the Sant Miquel mountain in the Serra de Tramuntana. These caves stand out for the fineness and richness of their limestone deposits in the form of stalactites and stalagmites, also known as speleothems by geologists. In addition to their natural ornamentation, various aspects have attracted the attention of scientists and naturalists. For example, fossil remains of Myotragus balearicus, a species of bovid endemic to Mallorca and Menorca, which became extinct 4,000 years ago after the arrival of man on our islands, were found during work on the caves. The visits, which are audio-guided and last approximately 40 minutes, take you through different galleries and rooms with suggestive names such as the romantic room, the lake room, the enchanted castle, the palm tree room and the sound waterfall. After why not complement your visit with a delicious meal at the caves' restaurant “Ses Coves Grill”?
