Galeria Frank Krüger

Berlin artist Frank Krüger is known on the island and internationally for his impressive, colourful works on metal and his bull sculptures, which are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. In 2024, he will be presenting these in six different sizes. Frank Krüger is a dynamic and versatile artist. He is one of the few in the world to work on metal, but also experiments with new techniques such as airbrushing. His 500 square metre studio in Son Servera, which is equipped with its own spray booth, bears witness to his love of experimentation. Frank Krüger also runs three galleries on Mallorca together with his wife Laura Hahne: on the seafront promenade in Cala Ratjada, in the pedestrian zone of Artà and in the centre of Palma's old town in Costa d'en Brossa. What inspires him in Mallorca? Frank Krüger explains enthusiastically: ‘Mallorca is my muse. The light, the sea, the crystal-clear water, and of course the climate and nature, especially on the northeast coast of the island. Especially, when he rides his Harley or goes for a ride on his 62-year-old Corvette, ‘ideas and thoughts come flying to me,’ he says. Another source of inspiration is: ‘I stand somewhere, and people come up to me and tell me their stories. That inspires me.’ It is the authentic, the simple and the authentic, but also the contrast, that fascinates him on the island: ‘On the one hand, the simple rural life, and on the other, the high society.’ He enjoys this rural life near Capdepera. Urban trips, preferably to New York, provide him with the necessary contrast. This contrast between New York and Mallorca also plays an important role in his painting. For 30 years now, he has been living his creativity and his desire to experiment on the island: ‘I do what I feel like doing, mainly for myself and not to sell’. His life motto: ‘Keep hungry - there is always something new!’ The motto seems to be successful, as in September 2024 the Frank Krüger Gallery celebrates its 20th anniversary - Chapeau!
